A really cool bar! I’m from out of town and love to find interesting cocktail bars, this is definitely it! The bartenders are good at what they do. I think the price of the cocktails is decent for the quality of what you get here! There are 101 classic cocktails on the menu, which is wild. I tried the milk punch, it was really good! They will have your favorite or new favorite.

With over 100 drinks on the menu—not even counting the rotating seasonal options—there’s something for everyone, no matter your taste or mood. I’m a bourbon drinker myself, and let me tell you: these bourbon cocktails are unmatched. I’ve visited multiple times and tried a good number of their drinks, and not one has disappointed me. The presentation is top-tier, and the flavor matches it perfectly. Even better? Most drinks are in the $12–$13 range. That’s an incredible value considering the quality. These cocktails are better than what you’ll get at most high-end restaurants and steakhouses—and for a lower price. The service is just as impressive. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly, and if you’re unsure what to order, they’ll guide you toward something that matches your taste, describing each option with clarity and confidence. If you’re into cocktails—or even just curious—this place is a no-brainer. The Sugar House is an absolute must-try.

The Sugar House is a gem in Detroit. I ordered the EFK, a special menu item, and it’s a must-try for whiskey lovers—bold, balanced, and unforgettable. I also had the warm chocolate chip cookies, which were perfectly gooey with a pinch of sea salt that brought out all the rich flavors. My server, Florence, was fantastic—attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. The vibe here is cozy but elevated, and you can tell they care about the details. From the cocktails to the service, everything was top-notch. I’ll definitely be back.

Do not go by the name of the premises, The Sugar House , it’s not related to ice cream or sweets. It’s liquor bar. Visited first time and loved its ambience. I have seen the very vast variety of cocktails in their menu, 101 menu of whiskey menu. They serve only cocktails and mocktails , no food is served here. It’s a must visit place and would again visit.

Hands down the best bar in Detroit for mixed drinks! Sugar House never disappoints! every cocktail is crafted to perfection, but the EFK is truly next level. The smoky presentation, the balance of flavors, and the creativity behind it make it unforgettable. The bartenders know their craft and make the whole experience feel special every time.
